“Zombies have been such a hit with our community that we were committed to bringing brand new zombie experiences to Call of Duty: Black Ops,” says Treyarch Studio Head, Mark Lamia. “We’ve taken extra special care to retain the essential ingredients of our Zombie game, and have also crafted a nice surprise for the fans.”

This announcement was not entirely unexpected after a video containing zombie footage appeared on the mysterious gknova6 website, now widely believed to be part of Treyarch’s elaborate marketing campaign.

Gamers can also experience an all new co-op game in Black Ops with Combat Training. Up to six players can rank up in this dedicated and exclusive multiplayer mode battling against enemy AI.

During the multiplayer unveiling event on September 1, a few of the new Call of Duty: Black Ops features discussed were the currency system and the brand new game mode Wager Match.

Let’s talk about COD Points, your Black Ops in-game currency. Let’s clear up the difference between unlocking and purchasing loadout options.

You still unlock items, abilities, and customization options through leveling up. You’re still gaining experience, but you’re also earning COD Points at the same time. Let’s use specific examples to see how this works. For perks, when you reach level 4, all perks become available for purchase. When you unlock Killstreaks at level 10, they all become available for purchase. And when you unlock great new features such as Custom Reticles, they become available for purchase for all guns. This lets you purchase what you want, when you want it. Just make sure you have the money.

Can’t wait to throw on an ACOG Sight on that new Commando assault rifle you just purchased? No interest in the Red Dot Sight? Skip right over it. No need to grind for kills. Save up your money and purchase the ACOG Sight instead. Can’t wait to demolish your enemies with the RC Car killstreak? Make it your first purchase after unlocking killstreaks.

This is just a sample of the options you can explore and purchase, but we’re not giving away all of our secrets just yet.

Last nights multiplayer reveal told us even more about what we can expect from the hosting side of Call Of Duty: Black Ops.

• There will be no public server files.
• Servers will be rented from GameServers.com only.
• Anti-cheat will be provided by VAC, not PunkBuster.
• There will be a /record feature.
• Black Ops will be a Steam exclusive.

The all new “Wager Matches” that was just revealed at the Call of Duty: Black Ops event. Show off your skills and put your money where your mouth is!

“Wager Match” will place you in one of four possible modes:

One in the Chamber - Players get one bullet to kill other players.

Sharpshooter - Players are handed a random weapon.

Sticks and Stones – This one uses the ballistic knife, the crossbow, and a Tomahawk

Gun Game - This one everyone will remember from Call of Duty 4 (modded by Lepko). One of the best mods to come out for CoD4 and now incorporated here, you rank up your weapon with every kill you get in a round. Knifing someone de-rates their weapon.

Call Of Duty Black Ops finally has its big multiplayer reveal event tonight starting from 18:00 PDT !

This is the first Black Ops event to have no reporting embargo’s, so all attendee’s  will be blogging real time what they discover. The best way to find out what’s occurring is through Twitter. A special “twitter list” has been setup for the event, which can be found here:
