IWN RESPONDS (BLACKCAT)
I really am disappointed by Morphious’s statement and feel it is necessary to put it in perspective.
To paraphrase the original agreement:
- After having numerous meetings with Infinity Ward and the current IWNation staff an agreement was reached and as part of that original agreement, IWNation would become part of the FKMod Gamers Foundation (FKM). This included the site content, HTML code and domain name. This agreement was reached February 16, 2005 and agreed to by all parties.
- The management and moderators for IW nation will consist of a core group from the original IW nation along with a specified group from the FKMod team. This group will be expanded or contracted based on the input of the current management group as stated.
- This group will be jointly responsible for managing and maintaining the web site and forums. The group commits to a code of conduct and a spirit of cooperation that is professional and respectful of the other members of the group. In addition the group agrees that each member will be responsible to himself to carry out the day to day affairs of the site within the confines of this code of professionalism.
- The group commits to Infinity Ward they will represent the company in a professional manner fitting of the reputation IW has maintained. In return Infinity Ward commits to endorse the site as its defacto support site and will maintain that endorsement from Infinityward.com.
- FK Gamers Foundation will be responsible for funding the website and necessary bandwidth to ensure the site remains on-line and active. The foundation may solicit donations from the website as long as A) it is done in a tasteful and professional manner, and ALL money received from the site is used exclusively for IW Nation activities.
A little history -
The current website had been down for a 2nd time and that lasted for more then 30 days. There was an incomplete backup from January 18, 2005 to work with.
In October 2004, Morphious asked for donations to upgrade the forum software
http://www.iwnation.com/Forums/index...opic=10083&hl= We restored the forums using the old version and then we were suppose to use the updated version of IPB that was purchased from IWN community donations.
Morphious had planned on expanding the site to cover other First Person Shooters before FKM became involved.

“Morphious - Nov 4 2004, 04:46 PM
Making a new site called FPS Nation. I will be merging the forums with the EXTREME help of Cold-Phoenix with the FPS Nation forums. Hoping to convert all users and posts.
Questions? Comments? Concerns?
Please keep this private.”
To us this was in direct contradiction to what was agreed upon in earlier discussions with Infinity Ward. Morphious keep delaying releasing the updated license information from IPB so the forum software could be upgraded.
Out of frustration and several days, FKM in March 2005 purchased a new perpetual license from IPB plus the Blog and Gallery Module for $300.00. This allowed us to move forward, work towards getting the site updated and a new custom skin designed.
After the forum upgrade, Morphious attempted unsuccessfully to backup and download the newly updated SQL database.
Shortly there after Grant made the suggestion that Morphious should resign so that progress on the site could move forward without any unnecessary hindrance.
FKM spent a great deal of time and money to improve IWN. From the custom designed skin, the newly designed front end and the dedicated IWN game servers for everyone to enjoy.
If no one has read it you can read:

Peace.
