I think Radeon is better. They all go to my computer. I got a costume computer, my dad's best guru hooked us up with for an AK47, lol. Radeon is my favorite, because they last long, and they kick a**. I had a Nvidia, but I was trying to put it in. I got it in and all, and it ate my **** up, so I called support, and tryed to fix everything. Then, he tells me there not the best on costume computers... Gah, boy - Did my dad give him hell, lol. So, I sold it to my dad's Guru, and he wanted to trade, for a Radeon 9800 Pro. So, I did... & now, I'm in love. :)

So, let me know why and why knot you like that and **** video card(s), lol. :P

Yeah. He MSNed me one day and way like: "you should get rid of that ****ty ati and buy a geforce."

Then I said: "Why? My Radeon spanks your crappy GeForce"

Him: "no it isn't.my geforce would smoke your stupid radeon."

Me: "My grammar and punctuation could smoke your geforce and they aren't even video cards. Now take a seat and learn." Then I gave him a link to the page with the XT and he just shut up. :lol:

My Radeon 9800 Pro has done surprisingly well, and ATI has done wonders throughout the years for Macs...so I'm going to side with ATI for this argument.

Well let me say something about my ATI Radeon... Well it's a Radeon Mobility 64MB DDR in my lappy. The lappy is a P4 2.8 512MB DDR Dell. The video card has been surprisingly, extremely satisfactory for me. It's been running all games perfectly fine. Call of duty was running on my system at 1024 res with all details set to extreme.

I'm completely satisfied with my old ATI, still rocks.

Good to hear logic!

if I get a laptop anytime soon, it's gonna have a Radeon 9600 video chip powering the games. :w00t:

I"v used Ati And Nvidia. Last Ati card ihad was a 8500le Good cheap card. But the bang for buck king is the refurbished Gainward ti4200 i got from newegg for $68.00. It what iv been useing for Call of Duty getting 50 to 120 fps. I"m gonna stick with till the dx9 games start to come out.

Me too. Its the worst of the best. Any geforce below that is crap so I got an Abit Siluro Geforce 4 Ti 4200 128mb. It was about $150 on pricewatch when I bought it. Last time I checked it was around $100.

I got an ATI, but I couldn't get it to work. I returned it and got that ti 4200 and that didn't work either. Thats when I realized I never completely uninstalled the old voodoo 3 drivers. I Never did figure it out. I ended up reformatting the hard drive. Never did get to test the ATI... Ti 4200 works great for me though.

All I can say is that over the years I have hardly ever had a problem with my Vid drivers with Nvidia. I can not say the same about radeon.

ATi, baby.

nVidia = good
ATi = better

I've always been a die-hard nVidia fan. My old Ti 4600 was rock-steady...but I have to tell ya, my new ATI Radeon 9800 Pro smokes! I think I've been drawn over to the dark side! :ph34r: :lol:

Billy The Mountain

Yep rock steady is what the Nvid's are. To some peeps it is fun to mess around all the time with settings and what not I have a 9800 in another box and it needs tuning up all the time so in my book less hassell, more than makes up for some fractions of speed in certain games in which you cant really tell the difference anyway.

Have you downloaded the "coolbits" registry mod for the nVidia detonator drivers Billy The Mountain? I was able to tweak up the core/memory speeds a bit for a little better performance-beware, it heats up the gfx card!
BTW, are you a Frank Zappa fan?

Howdy Cowdoc had a blast shooting up the maps with ya tonight :D I burned up a TI4600 one time a couple years ago when the prices were still dear so I have not messed around with overclocking since then :wacko:

Ethel was a tree growing out of his shoulder! I've been found out! :ph34r: Yep been a fan of Franks since Joes Garage and The Mothers OF Invention days

Although he got a little more than a bit risque I have allways admired his ability to make fun of everything including himself.

I came pretty close to overheating mine (Ti 4600) before...started getting some graphics corruption and turned it down real quick!
That online CoD game was great! Damn, there were some guys there that burned my butt! We had a hard time getting through that chateau, huh?

I was "weaned" on Zappa, going all the way back to the Hot Rats days. My older brothers played it constantly.

Back to the thread...I have to say, I'm in love with this Radeon 9800 pro, everything runs faster and smoother, even Max Payne 2 and especially Halo! CoD looks flawless!

I have to admit that I have been using my box with the 9800 pro and I have not had (since the original contortions of setting it up) any problems and it has ran great but I have not noticed any real improvement over my 4600.

But I am not doing any bench mark stuff like that as I really don't think it is humanely possible to see the difference in millionths of a second, but then I guess anything is possible. lol

Arrggh thats the problem with death matches and the spawn points. I mean people just spawn on top of ya or right behind and so a lot of it is luck in my book. And then some maps are worse than others. I did get second place on a couple so I was happy at least for a while till my butt got sore from being spanked :wacko: LOL

Ahh well I guess I'm too old to shoot it out like that anymore when ya get older ya have to get sneakier :angry: LOL

Remember the saying Old age and trechery will overcome youth and vigor :P
