Laundry List of Errors...

[Sergeant Crash]

Hello everyone,

okay- I dont know if I got a defunct disc or what, but there have been several problems I've had lately that I hope you guys can help me out with.

COD Multiplayer and COD:UO Multiplayer:

1. Several times Punk Buster kicks me off for 0 minutes for not having O/S privledges... I dont have any cheats enabled--

2. I have installed the key several times, but when I'm trying to connect to a server, many times it sits there saying "awaiting key authorization"


COD:UO Single Player:

I can never get the first level to load up. It comes up with an error message saying:
"Unknown Effect type 'bullet-small-normal' in first colum of file 'fx/long_range_IW_impacts.csv"


I have removed and reinstalled the programs already so any helpful advice would be appreciated...

For the O/S privilages, are you the administrator of your computer?? Because I've heard of this problem before and a lot of times it's because of not being admin of your computer. And also, did you write the correct cd key in, or did you use a no cd crack??? You could try to to enter the cd key in the multiplayer options menu For the single player, see if your drivers are updated. Hope it works!!! And welcome to CODBoards!!

Tizmo is pretty much right. Have you installed the sp2 update for XP recently. Doing express install of this update automatically turns on the Windows firewall and has caused counless players problems with O/S kicks vis PB. Just do a search here for O/S privledges, there is a load of helpful advice to be found.

Before posting, try a search, there are multiple threads about o/s privlidges. Even one in this very category.

The cd key authorization sounds like a firewall problem to me. For other possibilites see this:

Sounds like you have a corrupted .pk3 file, or you have a mod that's conflicting. Try uninstalling the game and then completely deleting the game directory. Then CLEAN YOUR CDs (very important) and reinstall. In that order.

Hey about the "Awaiting CD Key Auth".

I have experienced this problem if you try to connect to a COD server while you have the COD:UO client open and visa versa.
If you do this it will just sit there and do nothing for ages.

This is easilly fixed by creating a new folder (mines called Putmodshere) in the Main Call of Duty folder. Then cut and paste all mods in main into this folder. You can usually tell which ones are mods by using the "date created" option for the folder. Single player will work again. When you want to use mods again, cut and paste them back into the main folder.
