Post your favourite albums, a rating out of 10 would also be useful

Thursday - War All The Time - 10/10
A superb album, symbolises Power, Emotions and poetic lyrics along with the god-like riffs and drumming
The Mars Volta - De-Loused In The Crematourium - 10/10
Something out of this world, some "serious" music has finnaly hit record stores. Band members previously from "At The Drive In"

I recommend anything by Curve, "Permission to Fly" by the Darkness (spandex rules!), "Tidal" by Fionna Apple and "In It For The Money" by Supergrass. I'm conflicted over my favourite album but I suppose I always seem to go back to "....And Justice For All" by Metallica.

If you want something a little out there then I'd suggest trying to get hold of some Bo Kaspars Orkester (which I'm having difficulty doing).

now that's a set! I'm old school hardcore, (standard and progressive rock, too) allow me to tighten up that list a bit...

Meat Puppets - The Big House
Black Flag - Revenge (or anything else for that matter!)
The Effigy's - We're Da Machine
T.S.O.L. - Man & Machine
Venom - Bloodlust
Dead Virgins - IV
The Stimulators - Loud Fast Rules
The Angry Samoans - Back from Samoa
Minor Threat - Out Of Step
Hüsker Dü - Land Speed Record
The Plasmatics - Beyond the Valley of 1984
Bad Brains - Banned in D.C.
Killing Joke - The Unperverted Pantomime (the Peel Sessions edition)

and far too many others to mention, but IMHO these are the best and essential paradigms of the peak of the hardcore movement from '81-'85

As far as I was concerned, when hardcore 'died', music died. There's not much after '85 that I find even remotely listenable, with few exceptions... but I really dig the Red hot Chili Peppers, Tool, Perfect Circle.... Oh yeah, can't forget STP!

Lemme finish with a Obscure Discography - extremely interesting material which has mainly escaped the modern mass-consciousness... well worth the listen if you can find it: (btw, [a]=album; [t]=track)

Atomic Rooster - Made in England [a]
Ten Years After - Watt [a]
Hot Tuna - Yellow Fever [a]
Fraternity of Man - Fraternity of Man [a]
Bobby Pickett & Peter Ferrara - King Kong (Your Song)/Disco Kong [t]
John Byrd - Idi Amin [t]
Klaatu - Anus of Uranus [t]; Little Neutrino [t]
Jean Michelle Jarre - Equinox [a]

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Soundtrack - YoYo Mas' work is very ambient, and there are some parts that are so magically tranquil they cross the line between music and liquid, such fluency.

Metallica, Ride the Lightning - Somewhat edgy, but very good songs for the most part.

Final Fantasy IX Soundtrack - Wonderful music, exploring different moods and genres. Love it, completely.
