APG PCI

Ok i bought a Radeon 9600 Se and when i open up my comp i have PCI slots and the Radeon is APG and noe i have to take back the card so i was wondering what card i should get for PCI slots....and i only have 139 bucks

A PCI card. See what you can get, as there isn't much choice. You may also look at on-line stores first to get some price indication.

Bf:V? What do you mean? Battlefield1942:Vietnam? There are some GF4 PCI cards, just as there are some ATI PCI cards. But PCI cards are rare, because almost nobody wants them.

well that means i have to get a new motherboard or unless Staples orders one for me...I think staples does that type of stuff

Most shops can order these things, it just takes some time, as they are not so common. But i think a motherboard replacement will suit best in both ways, you can still use your current advanced graphics card, and you open up a new world of possibilities to upgrade your system.

yeah but damn thats more money...i just spent some money for about 512 RAM and i bought a video card for about 139 bucks...phew

PCI slots are way slower then AGP slots, as they have a smaller bus. But they are good enough to use, but the manufacturers prefer AGP because it is cheaper too. You may want to put the AGP card back in it's box, wait a month or so, and spread your costs. That's how I manage to always keep my system up to date :)

BF:V=Battlefield:Vietnam cause i bought thinkin 512 RAM would do the job :(

You probably won't notice the differance. Else it is a lower framerate. It is more for the very high graphical tasks where you use all the 128mb, where you would notice a slight drop in performance if you use a PCI instead of AGP. But for the everyday-common-tasks you won't notice any differance. Of course it definately depends on what kinda PCI card you put in it. If you put a nice 2mb SiS card in it, you won't be doing any BF42. But if it is a brand-new 128 meg card, everything should be smooth.

Yeah, as long as you don't pick the 64mb version, or lower (don't know if there are lower, am not so in that business anymore).

Of course i wont by the 64 MB version...I think 139 bucks will cover it.....Im not a serious gamer I just want somthin that gets teh job...somthin that will let me actually enjoy the game.

The Best Buy in my Area has a GeForce 2 MX 400 for like $40 dollars. It's a 64mb card(PCI), but it will get the job done. Granted i don't use it as a primary, but it's run everything i've thrown at it.
