View Full Version : Possible extra option for multiplayer

Because i dont play this game in a clan, or have any intention of playing it in a serious competetive way, i wondered how many other "Casual" players like myself might like my thoughts here.
I do play with friends and part of the fun of playing with friends is that we have all Auto assigned, splitting us across both teams when we play a multiplayer game, which gives us a bit of extra fun in our ventrilo channel when we kill each other.

For me, what would be a work around for the mess with the IWNet server thing is if they add the option before you go into picking your game mode, to play either

A: Clan Play = This is basically what they are running now, no changes needed

or

B: Non Clan Play (or whatever you want to call it) = in this version your player party is split up across the 2 sides.
No more joining a game and finding your opposition is made up of guys all tagged up.

For me, i think i could live with this over the dedicated server screw up.
Unless of course i am in a minority here:icon_question: :)

One important point is why would they take away any choice in this matter just to give it back later.

Wouldnt that be admitting they got it wrong?

eh. i dont like it; most of the times i play with or against clans, i find they are either horrible, or unstoppable. if i am facing the latter, i just quit. though i wont quit if my team sucks, because it makes me look better :icon_razz:

That option already exists, at least for Team Deathmatch. It is called Mercenary TDM. No teams allowed so the matchmaking system will ignore parties that enter the lobby together and split them up.

Yeah, but i am not kean on TDM, i like an objective sometimes, like Sab, Dom, CTF, HQ or Dem.
I was trying to put it like it gave every one a choice.
So if i picked moshpit with the non clan bit, it would work with out me ending up agaisnt all clan players.
Well it was just a thought.

I must admit I quite like the idea, I often play like Fab suggested, using the "Mercenary TDM" option.

I would like to see this "Mercenary" option extended into other gametypes.

As I see it, in CoD4 etc. many servers would kick for clan stacking, and with the MW2 party system obviously clan stacking is inevitable. I guess it could be classed as another example of Infinity Ward ignoring the "ethos" of the PC gaming world by totally disregarding this fact, but let's not go into that......
