Yes, I have a friend who has gone through 2 lasers on his 60GB! Mostly from playing COD games....4, 5, 6!

His is currently getting fixed right now. I told him he plays too much! I have a 60Gb too, and never a problem. Go figure...

Evo, if you have a launch 60, its a common problem, no matter how much you play.
Before now I have not had that many problems that are serious. My new referb Ps3 ain''t as good, no sd card slot =(

Thank god I got mw2 out of it tho lol.

My PS3 has broke for the 5th time in 3yrs :icon_sad: Everytime except one (the first break down) it has been out of their warranty . 4 times the HDD has gone up,. $149.00 a pop - minus one warranty . This last event has the power supply failing $ 179.00 no longer free shipping . I really lit into the tech and asked to speak to a supervisor this time around . I'm sorry but it seems to me that such a product would be better built . it seems that the 2 issues that i have had with my PS3 are common problems . My PS3 isn't on round the clock , it gets it's casual use , only game play , no movies or anything else that this machine can be used for for that matter . You would think that Sony would back their product up better or correct these issues with better parts . Anyway for all my rambling , i ship it off this morning and await it's return with the COD MW 2 game that got stuck inside when it failed. And for all my troubles Sony will ship me a free game of my choice from their preferred list of ps3 games :(

I agree with your views on the PS3's ability to have been better built, especially for the price we've paid, and only have one argument to save this console:

Thank God they don't fail as much as the xBox.
