I hate that. THough there is an easy fix for it. Get an older version that doesn't expire, and that's what I've done. Go to http://www.oldversion.com/ (http://www.codboards.com/redirect.php?http://www.oldversion.com/) and get an older version.

Mine is 5.82, it's unregistered and I've used it for over a year, So i guess this doesn't expire.

I downloaded the version you have, deLogic, and when I try to join it says that my username is unregistered.:( Any more ideas?

maybe you are using a nick that's registered, or in use by someone else. try a different nick.

Just FYI that I can't connect to mirc from work computer. I'm behind a secure internet connection so any ports other than regular browsing ports are not connecting. I'll be on mirc after work and on weekends.

to register a nic in the console window or chat window type in /msg nickserv register password email .... but have the nick you want to register in use at the time ;)

Glad you like the idea. Unfortunately you'll have to excuse me because I'm not there. I'm on my work network and ports other than regular ports are blocked, so I can't connect on 6667 or any other irc uses.

I will be there after work at all times.

just go to your server list and find "dalnet"(any of the dalnet servers). After connecting to a dalnet server...type /j #codboards

I kinda know that. I have never worked on gamesnet though. Perhaps this gives me a chance to get there and see how things go. I'll update here as needed, thanks for the info.

I've been working on Gamesnet. I see that there are lots of people in callofduty channels. I've registered the channel codboards for us. See if you like it better, I think it's better.

the latest version that doesnt require registration is 6.03 i cant remember where i got it but search on google or sumthing and u shud find something

Well, all 6.x versions under 6.12 have a dcc exploit that can be used to crash you...

you can still get that version and fix the exploit...if you have any 6.x version under 6.12, hit alt+R and a screen titled remotes should pop up... in that window, add a new line:

ctcp *:dcc send:*: if ($len($nopath($filename)) >= 225) halt

This *should* fix it...

Its good to see the channel on gamesnet, I can idle regularly now since that's my main IRC network :)

ATTENTION!

For the guys that are using the mIRC client to connect to chatrooms, there is a worm virus running around, I caught it and was able to remove it a few minutes later.

It will create a file called tskmg.exe in your system32 folder in your windows root.

The server information told earlier is not recent anymore. Here are the current servers (RoundRobin, so you'll always get connected).

OK everyone, we're going to try this again. I have registered the channel #CoDBoards with gamesnet. I will be there most of the time during the day. I'm hoping we can get this channel going so everyone come check it out.

For those not familiar with irc you will need a client first. Go to http://www.oldversion.com] (http://www.codboards.com/redirect.php?[url) oldversion.com [/url] and download mirc version 6.0 or older and you won't need to register it. Once you install it, start it and enter your information. Then to connect to gamesnet, type /server irc.gamesnet.net in the main window and hit enter and it will connect your gamesnet's server. Once connected, type /join #CoDBoards and hit enter. This will connect you to our channel.

I hope to see everyone there.

yeah it should be gamesurge not gamesnet, cuz gamesnet and progameplayer merged into one. now known as irc.gamesurge.net

however i joined that channel in there, there is one person but it is not a registered channel

No, it is gamesnet. ;) Gamesurge does not have a nickserv and gamesnet is still/back up and going so I decided to stay with gamesnet. If you come there you should see me most of the time and my server called CoDBoards almost all the time. Please help spread the word.
