All Guillied up, map is a real place

Not sure if this has been posted before, and not sure if im posting in the right place. Im i am good, if not, well not good lol. Anyways im not sure how many people know of this but when you place All Guillied up and have to go through the fields, and the towns, and camp out in the hotel. Even multiplayer Bloc is based on this place. It's called Prypiat in the Ukraine, it's not a ghost town after the plant in chernobyl melted down in 1986. Everything you see in the game, apartments, hotels, church, roadways, even the ferriswheel is identicle to it. I thought this was a weird twist to things, look it up its really fascinating.

This has been known for some time. GSC made a game over a year ago with the chernobyl setting too that was even more exhaustively reproduced than what you see in CoD4. That game is called STALKER.

That's really cool. I knew that Chernobyl was a place (duh...) But it's really cool that they did this. I've seen this done in other games too.

I LOVED the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R! ****ty graphics aside, it had excellent gameplay and a huge open-plan world to explore. Might need to go play that some more tonight...

Well anyone that has played STALKER like myself was not likely surprised enough to even comment in that thread. Like I said, Chernobyl was much more exhaustively replicated in STALKER than in CoD4. The bonus disc included with the game shows the real life and rendered versions of each location and the resemblance is remarkable.
