Is it possible to get xbox live if you only have a laptop and a wireless card??
I have hooked my xbox 360 up to my computer and started to get on love but when i "test the connection" it fails at the IP address part.. Any suggestions would be great..

guys one thing you can try is to try giving your 360 a seperate static ip. i had it working for a little bit but it was a pain in the ass.

If you already have a wireless router then get the adapter for the xbox. You need to set an IP for your xbox and when you try to go through your computer the connection is useing the computers IP so it wont give you one for the Xbox.

If you have a wireless modem it will work. They are $100 US (you might be able to find one for less on ebay).

Wait.. I was reading about the adaptors and they work with routers.. I dont have one of those.. I just have a laptop with a wireless card, I dont know much bout comps but i think it is a modem?? Will it still work?? sry for the questions..
All your wireless card does is receive a network connection. Something has to send that connection for you to receive it. For instance, at my house I have a cable internet connection going into a modem which sends the data to my computer. To setup Xbox live I had to buy a router so this connection will be split between my computer and my xbox. Then I just ran a wire from the router to my xbox. The wireless router is the same concept without the wire. You probably already have a wireless router in your home that you use to connect your laptop to the internet. You just need to buy the xbox wireless adapter then configure the connection with your router.

Is it a wireless card or a broadband card? If its a wireless card you should have the wireless router/modem. If you run off a broadband card you can buy a wireless adapter that is compatible (it has an expansion slot or a usb plug).
