ppl say that sniping is trash or hard.

can you explain why ppl say this?

its not so much hard, as it is broken...

i mean many times i will see an enemy sniper i will put my cross hairs on him and then deliver a blow.....

and it wont register, then i'll deliver another one and it wont register. by that time he has seen me and kills me

but then other times i will just dominate the field....

its just broken, look it up on youtube.....

I was playing on Crossfire the other night and I was sniping. So I'm on the balcony-ish part of the building on one end of the map and I see two players lined up side by side in one of the broken buildings on the other side. I fix my crosshairs on one dude, shoot, and it killed the guy next to him, and the guy who I should of killed killed me. And then I look at the killcam and I swear his crosshairs were actually above my head and to the right. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS?!?

They are just mad because they are getting pwned by someone who is good at sniping. Its not that hard if you practice a little bit. I used to be really good at snipeing on battlefield 2(pc) but when i tryed it on cod the whole holding the breath thing was new to me so it took me a while to get the hang of it. Now I can hit people on the run.

I have no prob with the sniper rifles in the game, after the first patch came out everything has been fine

Thats true after playing as a sniper for a while I notice how vulnerable you are from the sides and rear. I like it when they stop after the first hit if you didnt kill them and look around for you. I had one guy keep crawling down the same path one match until I killed him about 6 times, then he finally grew a brain. The only thing that sucks about snipeing in COD4 is the kill cam, it takes all the fun out of watching them try to find you.

This happens to me quite often. I also love it when I can't even see a person because I'm standing behind a building, then some douche will kill me and the guy's killcam shows me standing directly in front of him. :icon_neutral: I believe these are glitches.

Does it take into affect the distance like on that mission 1 shot one kill. I have found that aiming to the left or right when i am far away bags me a kill but aiming at them directaly its not so good.

I'm not sure. Whenever I play online, I just put the crosshairs on what I want to shoot and the bullet goes right there. I DO know that each rifle has a unique recoil, and that tends to only interfere with your aiming.

well we have the same problem on the ps3. it sucks. but according to the updates for both systems they are trying to fix this.

is this not something to do with the accuracy of your weapon? anyways i hate sniping im too impatient.. sometimes ill go up a building with my m16 but i get bored after a while

No that was just for that mission. Otherwise, you'd actually have to aim UNDER a person's head at close range to get a headshot w/ certain weapons. As far as I know, ballistics aren't applied in the multiplayer.

i think sniping is mad fun on this game, it sometimes sux because u have to shoot the same person like 3 times but other then that its alright =]

Unless they are moveing then you have to lead on them.

I never lead them on cus the bullet seems to hit the target the instant you fire it.

sniping is just pending the games connection.

One game i will go 30 -0

then next game ill got like 10-15

its all how your connection is related to the guy you are trying to snipe. I wouldnt say its hard tho, maybe it lags or has little problems but overall its fine, the connection isnt the games fault.

well it looks like sniping was fixed with this last patch however i do see alot of the old issues from before, more then likely due connection like infamous said. check out the patch info they put out it has a section about the sniper rifle plus check out fourzerotwo's blog he talks about it a bit.

I don't see any difference in the snipers, I still think they are inaccurate.

the snipers are defo fixed, i never used to snipe before because of it, but now i think it is just about right. you cant always be expected to hit someone just because your crosshairs are over them when sniping the distance of the map. if it was fixed/made any more accurate the game would be spoilt by people only sniping.

Its like that too keep some realism in the game. When shooting long distances you have to take bullet drop into effect and aim off a little.

Sniping is a mixed bag, largely depending on the map. Creek is just a stupid design in that it's almost impossible to play HQ against some competent snipers who know where to set up. On most maps it's pretty balanced, though, since there are circuitous routes to avoid obvious kill zones.

Its the little kids with no sense of tactics and run up the same allyway everytime trying to rush the sniper instead of cooking a nade or flanking that get mad. I killed the same guy 5 times one match because he kept hideing behind the same box every time he spawned.
