Hi I'm going to purchase a new video card in the near future, I will be replacing my Geforece 4 mx 420 (which was giving me problems with COD as I have stated in earlier topics) with a Geforce 4 mx 5200 or a ATI Radeon 9200.

The 9200 processes slightly less pixels then the Geforce 4 as my research has told me though many people have stated AMD chips and Nvidia video cards dont mix!

Here are my specs if this wiil help

AMD Athlon XP 2000 1.67 mgz (May be upgrading to a newer AMD chip to take into condideration)

Gefore 4 MX 420
512mb PC 2100
60gb hd

I'm dont think I have to go into much detail with my specs lol

Some suggestions on what to buy would be great!

What is your budget?

"Geforce 4 mx 5200"

There is no such thing as that, since the FX line came out it's now called the Geforce FX 5200. I suggest you stay away from that card as it is butt slow. ATI 9200 my friend has one but he was really on a tight budget.

I highly suggest you take a look at the ATI 9600 or the GeForce FX 5700.

"my research has told me though many people have stated AMD chips and Nvidia video cards dont mix!"

That is not true at all, I run AMD (and it totally rocks over Intel *cough*de*cough*) and it has no problems with an ATI video card.

So tell me whats your budget and it will help alot more. Also take a look at the top pinned link I've made a while back on some of the major video cards out in a huge comparison, it's pretty up to date untill the next few months when the new set of video cards hit the market which cost an arm and a leg.

yeah, bl0ss0m knows a little bit about computer hardware ( ;) )

Check out http://www.tomshardware.com]Toms (http://www.codboards.com/redirect.php?[url) Hardware[/url], it has a video card roundup that will show you which cards perform the best, and then you can price match. Good luck!
