i bought COD4 just yesterday, first i tried multiplayer and its work fine but when i tried to launch single player mode its get freeze when its launchin
and never works

but same time no prb with multiplayer game

what should i do i even upgrade my video driver, still not workin

Make sure your disc is in the drive. If it is, are there any error messages?

I've had the exact same issue on my end, bought the game today, the demo ran fine, as does multiplayer, (although now I've seen that I cannot create a server and play on it "solo"), but single player will always crash and bring me back to my desktop whatever I do. I can actually reach the menu page by clicking really rapidly but it still brings me back to my desktop

my sytem is :

P4 3.0ghz HT
1.5 gB Ram
Audio is from the board (could be an issue or so I've read)
and my video card is a Nvidia 6200 128mb

now, my video card may be the culprit as it's slightly under par to current technologies, but still, demo and multiplayer works fine for me.

So far I've upgraded video and audio drivers, uninstall Daemon tools and such, replaced .exe with no cd .exe, putting in dvd or not, renaming the mmsmimp3.asi to .bak, oh and i've also reinstalled

and yet......nothing

hope it can be of some help, will post back if results do arrive

I think i had the exact problem you did, except mine was reversed.

Did you download their version of the Direct x?

If so, that may be the cause of your headaches.

Try updating your Direct x at your graphics card website and re-trying it.

same as Psym0nkey says don't install their version of Direct X but if u have try and updating it at your graphics card website?
