Major error in Band of Brothers.

The Eagle's Nest in Band of Brothers is NOT the real Eagle's Nest.

When in real life, there are steps that go up that lead to the terrace and to the trail behind. (sorry, no good photo for this)

There is no such dropoff at that point.

It is a great place to visit, and the skiing is excelent. The mountains are so beautiful there I can see why Hitler liked it so much.

"Kehlsteinhaus" is the name of the Eagle's Nest. It looks like it might be in Austria, but it is not, it is in Germany.

Looking at the pictures I'd have to say that if they recreated Hitlers hide away for what ever reason and not shooting on location they did a hell of a job...perhaps for reasons other than what we know it was better for them to use a more suitable set or different location...It fooled me but I have never been there...

While it might not be a major one, Tizmo pointed it out for the reason that Band of Brothers strived to be factually correct. Yeah, they don't shoot on scene, in fact most of the series was shot in England, but it's also not to hard to recreate a building...
