so like, yea, i got on myspace and saw this.. this pisses me off beyond belief, i hate when people complain aobut walmart, saying that its trying to monopolize the world, and thats its taking out small businessess, people saiyng wlaotn was satan and what not...

let me tell you something, Sam Walton was a small business owner! the difference between his small business and oyurs is that he saw companies like Target, K-mart, etc. as a challeng, other people jsut want to *copulating* complain aobut it.

my mom works at walmart, she knows for a fact that walmart does not do 90% of the things u always hear aobut on the news, so all you ****ing morons need to get a life and STFU....

<a href="http://www.wakeupwalmart.com/images/naziimagery.jpg"><img src="http://www.wakeupwalmart.com/images/naziimagery_small.jpg"></a>
</center>
Three months ago, a blog called <a href="http://www.bentcorner.com/2006/11/09/wal-mart-is-selling-shirts-with-a-nazi-ss-skull-on-it/">Bent Corner</a> revealed that Wal-Mart was selling a t-shirt with the insignia of Nazi Germany’s 3rd SS Division Totenkopf.

On Nov. 13, 2006, Wal-Mart said it would stop selling and immediately remove the t-shirts with the Nazi insignia. But, last week, bloggers from <a href="http://consumerist.com/consumer/3rd-ss-division-totenkopf/">Consumerist</a> were still able to buy the offensive t-shirt at a Wal-Mart store in Georgia.

Sadly, this is not the first time that Wal-Mart has <a href="http://blog.wakeupwalmart.com/ufcw/2005/05/because_of_your.html">used Nazi imagery</a>, but with your help we can make it the last.

<a href="http://www.wakeupwalmart.com/feature/nazishirts/">Sign our petition</a> today and end Wal-Mart's use of Nazi Imagery, once and for all.

Such supermarkets just trample the opposition. Local businesses lose out because they can't compete.

Now, i'm not saying that Walmart should be closed down - but a limit should be put on it. There is a large discussion about this over here in Britain.

Wal Fart is ok for simple things, but i wouldnt go there for anything serious like tools or electronics. I have had bad exp with Wal Fart and the "high end" items.

As a side note i noticed they did away with the lay-a-way program last year.

if u haven't figured it out yet, the video, and that "wakeupwalmart.com" site have both been created by the uninion. Wal-mart doesn't have a union, and its for the better. my mom was telling me aobut how my brother and his friedng got hired at two different places. Andrew (my brother) was hired at walmart, they started him at like $7-8 (in 2002) he was 16 at the time, and did not paay union fees. Andrews friend, we'll call him mark.., worked at a Winn-Dixie (i think) he was payed $5-6, had to pay a union fee of $20 a week, not to mention he was under 18 so he didn't even get the so called "uninion benefits".

Now as for the whole "walmarts destroying local businesses" Walmart is like a "general store" its got a bout everything, at a pretty decent price as well. they have great stuff, but i know for a fact that you can get certain products better elsewhere (like computer parts). its not really destoying small businesses, its just that the small businesses aren't trying that hard, like i said, if walmart has something better then your product, then find something they're weaker in, and increase your product in that area.

Small businesses are being destroyed because they supermarkets can afford to outprice them. Everything is in a supermarket, and its much more practical and suits the modern lifestyle to shop there once, rather than trawl around other shops for individual products - another way they're running a monopoly.

I hate Wally World. I went to this one by me. It was run by teenagers, the store was a complete mess. Toys were across the store, boxes across the floor, everything. Besides, the Walmart near where I used to live had the greatest Computer Game section, it was about four of those sheves they use to display them on end. Then one day, it was taken away and moved to 1 shelve... Frankly, I don't care if Wally World was to go out of business.

By the way, I have no problem with Target, they have a good PC software section. K-Mart is ok, but they have a bad PC game section.

You wouldnt be able to get me in a Target with a tow truck. They let them ppl with the bells on their doorstep each xmas, but wouldnt let nam and WWII vets try to raise money the same way.

Seems all they care about is how to squeeze money out of people.

Yes, of course you're not wrong. What I should have said that in the description by HoboJoe it seems that customer care and service they don't care about - only getting you in and out 10 dollars poorer.

People are upset with wal-mart because they buy there goods the cheapest price they can get it at no matter what. Personal i really don't care , i'll shop at wal-mart till it closes. Also with Target MR you should probably read up on that , it goes a lot deeper than Target just not letting them collect money. Target is one of the most philanthropic companies in the country. Target donated $1.5 million to the American Red Cross after Hurricane Katrina. It also allowed its store properties down there to be used as command centers for relief organizations. Target is also ranked as the highest cash giving company in America in percentage of income given. In the end i really don't care where i shop as long as i get the cheapest price for what i'm buying, welcome to America the Capitalist Capital of the world. :trink4:

that is true, Zach, but 90% of Targets stock is owned by Wal Mart so i have my ideas behind that cash giveing. What you say is true regardless, but i have many friends who were in Nam and Target simply would not let them set up there.

As you can tell, I base my assumptions on the PC software section. (And I plan my trips around skate-parks.)

IDK, I just don't like Wally World. In History class we did a warmup were we read about Wally World wanting this water front property in some city, but the city would sell it to them, because they want it to look nice, and Wally World sued them.

believe me i don't know where you guys have been shopping at, but so far customer service is grand where i go to.

as for Target and oyu nam friend, i think Target was saying no to your friend because of all the bad rep the soldiers recieved in Nam, but i still think thats a terrible thing to do to them...

and on the part of disaster relief. my mom worked in the gulfport walmart, we wer eon of the places hit by katrina. if people came buy with a pill or a perscription of a medicine that they needed to live, Wal-mart would give them a weeks worth of the pill for free. they donated billions in supplies/money as well.

Joe i have also noticed that Wal Mart's PC game selection has gone way down. I when in there one day and they had a whole asle of pc games and software, then a week later it was one small section about 10 feet long.

Well at my brand new super Wal-Mart they have two aisles for computer games. For most things: cd's, games, pencils, paper, a football, I don't know but for most things you can get the same thing for cheaper. I like Wal-Mart for a lot of things. Just not clothes.

the great part aobut it is that those stores you mention have been aroun dlonger then walmart, and actually were close to being monopolies themselves when the first Wal-marts came around.

Same difference really, they're all trying their own hand at world domination. Same over in England.

Hey, Wal-Mart is cool. Just because people think their stuff is cheaply made and trashy doesn't mean you should go there. I go there all the time :)
