Well, some of you may know that Australia Day is coming up, which is a day that Australians celebrate when they became a nation.
And, of course, some Aboriginies choose not to celebrate the day, as they see it as the end of their traditional life. I can understand that, but our good state Premier Peter Beattie decided to take it a step further.
He decided to make a rule that it was illegal to hand out Australian flags on Australia day, unless they were accompanied by an Aboriginal flag.
Immediately, Australia Day organisers slammed the idea, calling it 'political correctness gone out of control', and even the manager of an indigenous company disagreed with the idea. Obviously, due to his election coming up, Beattie decided to change the rule.
I mean, come on, this is honestly pathetic! People are so concerned about their 'rights' and 'correctness' that it is getting out of control!

I see where you are coming from. but Iv not much to say about his because Im not from the same state as you. But i guess its the same as bob carr say that imigrate should not be aloud to come to the state or somthing like that anymore.
Somthing along those lines.
Would you belive that I don'y know what date Austalia Day is on? Thats a disgrace IMO.

i'd laugh if it wasn't so scary. most western countries consider themselves to be civilized, well developed, etc. and yet we cripple ourselves over meaningless technicalities and other idiotic principles. political correctness is the same as most government ideas and programs... a few good ideas taken to the extreme and made into something horrible and useless.

And the sad thing is, the guy will probably be re-elected, even though his health minister resigned because of a bullying scam, among other things.
Dam Labor party... ;)

Talking of Labor, Peter Beattie was apparently humiliated in public by opposition leader Laurence Springborg. Beattie is a plump man, and Springborg, youngest elected member at 21 years of age, is incredibly fit. Apparently, as Beattie was walking his dog, he sprinted past him on his 10km jog, just in time for the cameras to take the pictures
To rub it in even more, Beattie was exposed rushing back to his apartment in Cairns to change into slimming black clothes

PC has gone too far. we try so hard not to p*ss others off and we lose sight of the things that are important. did you know this lady in florida sued the state because they wouldn't let he rtake her drivers license photo with her hood on? HMMM let's think about this... she said it was insulting to her heritage and culture. get this: she wasnt a born muslim, she was freakin white, she just switched religions about two weeks before! Argh PC is what is wrong with this world. because of it we have wars, violence, and hatred among races STILL. it doesnt help, IMO, we should just drop the whole act and let everyone speak they're damn minds, its our right has human beings, that's why god gave us a brain, to think with. that's my 2 cents on the matter
