Anyone (especially CoD members) who have not seen this series is missing a spectacular show. You can rent the whole series, or buy it. It was fantastic, and finally brought a sense of realism to a WWII movie/drama. I know friends of the family who were in the european theater in '43 and '44, they thought the show was pretty darn accurate.

That's too bad. there's some swearing; but really no more violence than what you see on TV and movies nowadays. Plus it's not glorified, it really shows how brutal war can be.

i thought band of brothers was excellent. a bit bloody at times, but then again it's a war series. definitely worth watching if you can find it.
Great series. It seemes like a great portrayal of WW2 while being very entertaining at the same time. I highly recommend that you watch it. I like it so much that I may get it on DVD some day.

Hate to break it to ya but they only part of the series that involves pre-1944 stuff is the first episode, "Currahee." It takes place in 1942 when Easy is at Camp Toccoa (sp?) on the base of Currahee hill. The rest is D-Day+.
I own the entire series on DVD and I've read the book. If anything, this is Spielberg's best work since Saving Private Ryan. If they had Jerry Bruckheimer in the producers chair, it would have been even better. I recommend it for those who like touching war stories about the true meaning of being in a war/ a true story of heroism under fire/ unglorified war. Or for anyone. Period. I would recommend it for my unborn twins. Accept the nudey part in episode 9 "Why We Fight."
BTW: Did you know Spielberg is from the city that I live in?

The uniforms are accurate, and the combat scenes are well done. It's the best war movie/series out there.
